Rongai route - 6 or 7 days

About the route
The Rongai route is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the northern side of the mountain, close to the Kenyan border. Though gaining popularity amongst climbers, this route still experiences low crowds.
Rongai has a more gradual slope than other routes so is is highly recommended, especially for those with less hiking experience. Although the scenery is not as varied as the western routes, Rongai makes up for this by passing through true wilderness areas for nearly the entire way. Climbers stay at designated campsites along the route and descent is made via the Marangu route.

The Rongai route can be completed in 6 or 7 days allowing enough time for acclimatisation to increase summit success.
